Scripture Union Daily Guide Monday 13 June 2022 MESSAGE
The need for peace in our nations cannot be over emphasised. From vs.19‐22, what did you notice about the herdsmen of Gerar? How did Isaac react? How would you have responded if you were Isaac? People like herdsmen of Gerar, causing troubles and disrupting peace, abound in our communities in Africa.
In the face of such provocation, believers should explore avenues for peaceful resolution and coexistence (Matthew 5:38‐ 40). It is better to seek peace than confrontation, for the worst peace is better than the best war! Note also the resilience of Isaac’s servants.
They were not discouraged in the face of opposition. They kept on digging wells until they got victory (v.22). What other lesson about peaceful coexistence is there for us in vs.26‐33 from the life of Isaac. Read vs.23‐25 again. Of what importance is God’s message to Isaac at this time of his life?
How refreshing is it, to know that God is always with us in our struggles (Matthew 28:20)! Vs.34‐35 show why we need to pray for our children to marry the right person.
What Next: Pursue peace with all men (Romans 12: 16‐21; Hebrews 12:14).
• Any new insight or reinforcement of what you already know?

THANK GOD FOR:
› Giving us the power to say No to sin, quarrel, anger and things that will not glorify God.
› Setting for us the goal to pursue Peace and Holiness without which no one will see the Lord.
› Our married couples who may be going through the eye of the storm in their marriages that God will help them make for peace.
› Each of the brethren to know that a dead man does not sin, hence we allow the Spirit of God to make us peace‐makers .
› Grace for our SU members to remember it is no longer I, but Christ that lives in us, hence no need to stress for our rights.
∷ Reproaches in our lives and marriages that the devil and his cohorts will not say “where is our God”?.
∷ Letting self keep us recording instead of forgiving hurts.
